To support the doctors we have a team of qualified and registered Practice Nurses and a Health Care Assistant (HCA).
Our nurses can help with issues such as family planning, health living advice, travel advice and dressings. They run clinics for long-term health conditions such as diabetes, asthma, child immunisations and cervical screening.
Our HCA supports the Practice Nurses with their daily work and carries out phlebotomy (blood taking, Tuesday - Friday), blood pressure checks, certain injections, INR monitoring, ECG's, NHS Health Checks and Offers stop smoking Advice.
Wider Clinical Team
Community (District) Nurses
A team of nursing staff employed by the RD&E Hospital Trust and attached to the Practice. They provide general nursing care to our housebound patients. To contact them telephone 01392 465691or leave a message with reception.
Community Midwives
The midwives share your pregnancy care with your own doctor. If you think that you are pregnant you should book with the midwife via reception. They usually run clinics at the Practice twice a week. They can be contacted by telephone on 07423184888.
GP Training
The Practice is very committed to education and training: Fully qualified doctors, specialising in family medicine, assist the work of the Practice as GP Registrars for up to a year, prior to moving on to pursue their career as a GP.
In addition we often have Medical Students attached to the Practice as part of their training in order to gain an understanding of General Practice. On these occasions you will be asked if you have any objections to them sitting in with your doctor during your consultation. As we are a training practice, if you have an objection please advise the receptionist on booking and they will arrange an appointment for you in a different clinic.
