If you are ill while away from home or if you are not registered with a local doctor but need to see one you can receive treatment from the local GP Practice.
If you need treatment for more than 14 days but less than 3 months you will need to register as a temporary patient. You will be asked to complete some paperwork before you can book an appointment. Please bring your NHS number or European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) if you have one.
Practices do not have to accept you as a temporary patient or give you priority for appointments. You cannot register as a temporary patient at a Practice in the town or area where you are already registered.
